I'm not certain but I believe this was already tried and failed but hey the state is in dire need to cut the budget but that can wait because there are other pressing issues that need to be pre-filed like this. How ironic Mr. Talbot reigns over the district from River Ridge, LA. It reminds me of the idiocy that Mr. Cortez tried when the split first came about.

I only bring it up as an example of the shortsightedness of the voting majority. Blinded by the opportunity to vote themselves championships, they expose the whole organization to risk such as this. An adversarial instate alternate association is another unnecessary risk. More mature leaders would solve problems and not create them.

First off in elections unless I missed that day in Civics class you will always have a majority that wins. The exposure was evident many years ago when neither side wished to deal with the pink elephant on the floor of the annual meetings and instead continued to sweep it under the proverbial rug until that rug came up and tripped those who thought it would never come about. You final statement regarding mature leaders I will agree with and that not only goes to ALL principals but more importantly our legislators like Mr. Talbot who seems to be more concerned with high school athletics in the home town of John Curtis than the 2.9billion our state faces in deficit spending. Afterall he's part of the problem as well having served since 2007 and one of Jindal's cronies.

it only takes one to file such a bill... but the real litmus test will be how many others vote
i don't think this is stopping any work from being done on the budget
besides i don't want getting what he wants anyhow

Really, that is what we need more government sticking their nose where it does not belong. They cannot balance a budget and want to tell a organization how it should be run. WOW

b...When they vote on it on the floor of the legislature. If there is a majority vote to adopt the legislation I'm sure you are willing to accept the vote of the majority...right?
This board might melt-down if they pass this bill.
I hope the boys in Baton Rouge take a flame thrower to this stupidity exercised by a group of principals gallivanting as administrators who have any semblance of a clue to the long term betterment of high school sports in this state.

If this thing makes it out of committee we should recall every representative involved.
These morons are about to deepen Louisiana's recession with their tax increases because they refuse to right-size our state government.
If they can't handle the things they are responsible for, why would I believe they could be responsible for things they are not?
