North DeSoto 10 Rayne 0 Next is at home against Deridder. Those girls did a great job! Congrats and Good Luck against Deridder! Kaplan 6 Loyola 0 Next is Bolton. If Kaplan beats Bolton and Winnfield beats the winner of the Iota - Port Allen game today, the #4 and the #5 teams will then play each other. Could be interesting! Good Luck to all! |

Griff already told you about 5A In 4A #26 Teurlings over #7 Tioga, #21 Benton over #12 Crowley In 3A #22 Erath over #11 Westlake In 2A #20 Sacred Heart over #13 O.C., #22 Ouachita Christian over #11 Many, & #19 Catholic New Iberia over #14 Rapides In 1A no real surprises. Class B & C still have first round games to play. I hope the rain starts cooperating. |

In 1A, Vermilion Catholic had a rough game today with St John but they pulled it off 6 to 5 in 10 innings! It's been 8 years since VC has been to Sulphur.

Central Catholic Joe Russo is livid this weekend. I hear the umpires tossed out a couple of LaSalle's bats before their quarterfinal game yesterday. Russo says LaSalle used the bats in their 2nd round game against CCHS and hit 5 home runs. Also has learned that the same bats were tossed out of at least 1 regular season game, and the LaSalle coach kept bringing them to and using them in subsequent games. He's asking for a hearing, but its a shame (if its all true) that the defending state champions may have essentially been cheated out of a return trip to Sulphur.
