1) Bonine will use scare tactics to coerce the EC into calling a special session for a revote on the "split" 2) if successful, the revote meeting will likely be in the summer, which will preclude many principals from attending due to furthering education, pre-scheduled family plans, etc. 3) At this special session, Bonine will push his Urban/rural plan, which isnt his plan at all. It was designed by the Notre Dame football staff.
Once again, our new Executive Director is attemping a strongarm tactic to get what he wants. This guy wont last, thankfully. Assuming that he gets everything he wants, and I doubt he will, his attitude if furthering a public school excursion into areas other than LHSAA governed. One mus'nt forget, a House Bill can, and will be written, for public funded schools benefit only. Two can play that game......and its in the works

i know you remember the voting at the convention... for the split, in both 2013 and this year, some public schools opposed the split, but basically no private schools supported it.
what this means is that nearly every legislator (not all, but def. a majority) has select school constituencies (that vote, that donate). those places that pushed for it that have a school for every 100 kids? they also have one legislator for three or four parishes. this is what representative democracy looks like. the numbers are against the split in the legislature. if wants to veto, both houses can override him

Cannot and will not be passed. Dead in the water.
Is there an inherent advantage to being able to get students from multiple areas or attendance zones?
Is there an inherent disadvantage to being locked into a single area to attract students while other schools can attract students from your area?
Is there an inherent advantage in being able to select or reject students attending your school?
Is there an inherent advantage in being able to dismiss students in your school when you deem such action necessary?
Is there an inherent advantage in not having to provide a full menu of services, whether social or educational?
Is there an inherent advantage in not having to adhere to state mandates or administer state mandated testing?
Answer yes top any of these questions, and a split is necessary and proper. 30 states at present. delving into these very issues. The idea that this is bad blood JUST between Louisiana schools is inmature, uninformed, and assinine.
This issue will be attended dealt with no matter what the pundits think.

This issue will be attended dealt with no matter what the pundits think. This is the only thing you've said that is accurate. Not, however, in the way you think.

IF its not accurate, then why dont you enlighten us to what is? Do you have evidence other than your own opinion? I said it was accurate. Do you have an issue with reading comprehension? He said it will be decided. That is accurate. One way or the other. My opinion is that I don't think it will be in favor of the split playoffs.
