Until the select schools, that attempt in good faith, to play within the spirit of LHSAA rules, differentiate themselves from the ever growing percentage of their brethren who adversely use said rules, to "cheat the system", not much will come from this conversation of reuniting.
I do realize that there are non-select schools that also "skirt the edge" of the rules. However, not in nearly as great of a percentage and not with nearly as much success.....mostly do to LEA imposed enrollment requirements based on geographical boundaries.
Stop being used for a vote. Step up, speak up, and distance yourself from the people in your like stead, that knowingly and willfully cheat. THEN AND ONLY THEN, CAN WE TALK OF REUNITING.

I acknowledge and understand your enrollment argument, and select schools being able to attract students from any attendance zone, but I find it hard to believe that there is actual "evidence" of schools out there that knowingly and willfully cheat. I remember a stretch back in the day where ECA was investigated a lot, and was found guilty of NOTHING...

Monroe who openly recruited players out of Ouachita High and other schools out of zone, Bastrop who took advantage of Katrina, Comeaux who openly recruits with inducements and got caught, Barbe who fudges enrollment numbers, Washington Marion who changed scorebooks, ETC.....

My question is... With the exception of Comeaux who got caught, and Parkway who got caught with the illegal player (who happens to be the starting quarterback this year... shocker there) have any of these been found guilty of violating a LHSAA rule???

Propose to us a plan that directly solves your problem without a bunch of 'bycatch' and I bet it will fly through the vote. No one is saying that there isn't one. It just isn't a huge big deal to the privates you categorize above because (gasp) athletics isn't their main priority. That's why they didn't make up a plan themselves. BUT, if you are gonna separate out a group of schools, make damn sure they are the ones that need to be separated. No one wants to be collateral damage.

YES, THEY ALL GOT CAUGHT!!!!!! and that is the tip of the public school "cheating" list. Other that have been caught with ineligible players, Acadiana, Ruston, Scotlandville, Istrouma and many, many others. To be fair some private schools have been caught too, for example STM had an ineligible player because parents falsified documents as happened at Acadiana.

Gentlemen, you are confusing convicted with having the advantage and the know how to skirt the spirit of the rule. Thats just it, it is near impossible to pull it off in the public sector. It is much easier to do so in the private sector due to the very nature of how a private schools enrollment is aquired. My point is not who or when anyone has been caught. The point is simple. Select schools dont wanted to be lumped together as a group in this new form of playoff format. Yet, they seem to never do anything but defend each other when the spirit of the rule is broken. Does anyone actually believe, that John Curtis, Calvary, and Evangel, have never been illegal in anything they have done, despite the fact that they havent been "caught"? Also, since in your argument, the publics are the one doing all the cheating, wouldnt you want to be seperate? When a school, NEVER has a down cycle............EVER.............they are cheating somehow, somewhere, some way. When a school, repeadedly puts out numerous D1 type kids, year in and year out..............they are cheating. When a school, has REPEADED move ins of abnormally athletic kids, year in and year out, in any grade level, they are cheating. The fact that they havent been caught just speaks to what an art form they have down in the process. All the public schools mentioned...............have had down times. LOTS of down times. Can the same be said for many, many, private sector schools in the sports areas they choose to focus?

Their success comes from the open attendance zones which allows them to build the those programs. Public schools have a hard to to build that type of success ever year with the attendance zones they must follow. I agree not all private schools are same just like not all public schools are the same. But because the principals are being backed into a corner ever time they turn around there has been no time to take the system we have and to work towards putting the teams where they belong. Remember 1. Boninie wanted a year to look at the split and see what needed to be done. Solution: Wait until the agenda came out then have a press conference saying the split was not put in properly and LHSAA is going back to old system 2. Politian’s want to ge involved. 3. Now there is going to another vote. Going to allow 5A and 4A to come back together. Why didn't let them vote on it by class at the last meeting then at least everyone would have known where they stood by class.
Almost 1 1/2 years spent trying to back door the split. Do think people will come together is ever time they look they are being backed doored. That is poor leadership.

Can the same be said for many, many, private sector schools in the sports areas they choose to focus? DIV III is probably the most competitive playoff division in LA. At least 6 of the schools in that bracket can win it all. I don't think any school in DIV III is complaining about the bracket at all. So many ways to go tit for tat...

Absolutely agree 100% Bonine wanted to put a stamp on a plan to impress his Executive Director Collegues nationwide. He is no stranger to name dropping and much like former Governor Bobby Jindal, wanted nothing more than to put his "stamp" on something. He attempted to hijack Louis Cook and staffs Urban/Rural plan, and act like it was his baby. Not, after realizing none of that would work, he attempted to issue an "Executive Order" effectively ending the split playoff format, backed by his Parlimentarian LeJune. Both power hungry, both thinking they could make it fly, both incredibly incorrect.
