Why does LHSAA get a take? They're a non profit organization

What extra money? First a team with a losing record bring no fans. The higher seed team's fan do not come out to the game because of who they are playing. So take those issue with the following and tell me what money.
LHSAA gets 10% Pay officials Pay travel for the traveling team
If you do not make enough at the gate it starts in reverse. Travel team does not get travel. Not enough money for Officials both pays the bill. But LHSAA always get their 10%. There is no money in playing teams with losing record.
Also with all the teams in the area in the playoffs you get no out of town people until their team is out. Ok on the money. What about the first question, if it is a mute point that privates may stay or leave why hasn't a public principal offered an amendment to lower brackets? This will need to be done on both "select" & "non-select" brackets for the other major sports as well, unless it was in the original plan to "split" the other major sports and I just didn't know.

Public schools will never decrease the number of teams in the playoffs. 0-10,0-20,0-30 it does not matter. HEY WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!

You tell me which meeting that could have been done. Every meeting they are having to vote on keeping the split. Never anytime to move forward.

I will admit,, I never have been for the split,,not not and will I never be for the split but now that it is here,, I will say it will probably never leave. I don't understand everyone says it is a competitive imbalance,,, I look at great schools like North Desoto, Kentwood, Union Parish, Neville, Alexandria Senior High, and so forth I see fine coaches,, with great athletes ,, they compete!!! I know their coaches personally and they just get after it,, they don't make excuses,,, they say let's put the ball down,, let's roll out the bats, let's go to work and see where we land up. Your teaching kids well life isn't fair ,, the private schools are too good,, so we are just going to not play them in the playoffs and play among ourselves. Life is not fair,, good gosh,, I have had to learn that though personal experience growing up,,,,and with everything that has happened to me over the past year,,, even proves that to me even more but because I have learned that life isn't fair and you have to press on,, I was able to handle it because of what I learned as a child. If you want to keep the split,, fine,,,but find a way to teach a child that you should not get a trophy just for participating,,or make the playoffs with a losing record. Making the playoffs at .500 I can see that because you have competed but this whole argument about the split gets old ,,,, for that is just about all you ever hear about anymore.

Every time the "split" was voted on it could have been added as an amendment. At the very least at the Jan. meeting when the vote to "split" all the major sports. The split has been in effect for 3 years (Football only) so the teams with losing records in the playoffs had to have been seen.

i know East Iberville loves it... 0-10, the announcers on the bracket show can't find anything nice to say about them... "but hey, we made the playoffs!"

I do feel that if it would have been well thought out from the beginning this would have been seen, if not at least after the 3rd (football season/playoffs) an amendment could have been offered to reduce the size of the "non-select" brackets. If no amendment then in the vote to "split" all the major sports something should have been in that proposal/plan voted on in Jan. I know the "split supporters" will say that they have had to fight to keep the split at every turn, but this should have been an easy amendment to pass unless this is what the Principals wanted to begin with. More teams in the playoffs, even if they have losing records.

And so what if over half the teams have losing records. I think it's rediculous but I surely don't care. it's obvious that's what they want so let it be. But let the privates have an eleven week season and play the finals the same weekend.

and notice those more teams in the playoffs are all crappy small schools with losing records, simply because 2A and 1A were more divided by the split than anyone else.
i mean reduce some of those brackets to 16 and you can have a bye week before the championship for the public schools... more time to plan travel since the public school demographic finds it harder to do so

Now everybody is happy. Well except big Bo b if he is left out! Wait, we can make a losers bracket, now everybody makes it.

I agree, this split stuff is blown out of proportion on this site. All the privates are lumped into one class and we know this is not right. How many privates can go to hoover, alabama, be on mtv and beat a top nationally ranked team? I only know of maybe one or two, but these are the reason for most of the anger, especially when they played down. I originally thought that the publics were making an example by splitting, saying that other private schools need to pressure these few schools into making sure they are following the rules. It's not the other schools job to enforce the rules, but the lhsaa is supposed to. This was alot like the bill introduced from river ridge, I saw it as a threat to come back together, but don't look like it worked. When you look at what JC has accomplished, no losing seasons since the second football year, it's easy to wonder if they follow all the rules. If they are, I wonder why the local private schools arent doing it right, traveling countrywide to play "the big boys". We need to think about these differences before we go too far with the split.

I think this may be the biggest reason a lot of the non-split supporters are like they are.

I think this may have been part of the original plan as well, but it kinda blew up when all the blowback from non-split supporters started to back the split supporters into a corner. This was alot like the bill introduced from river ridge, I saw it as a threat to come back together, but don't look like it worked. I appreciate you saying this and bringing this up, maybe someday some cooler heads will prevail.
