I see 1000 excuses as to why the select schools are dominating the competition in baseball and softball, especially in the lower classifications. Make up your mind boys, either youre better or your not. You cant be better, but not be better. Does it matter why you are better?
SPLIT NOW!!
Btw, Talbot is a joke. That guy got his ears plucked even though he went to private schools all his life. Nerds made fun of that soft arse guy. Though he was gonna cry in a room full or Alpha Males, and if he did, wouldnt have been the first time.

That guy got his ears plucked even though he went to private schools all his life. Nerds made fun of that soft arse guy. Though he was gonna cry in a room full or Alpha Males, and if he did, wouldnt have been the first time. Reasons not excuses: Parents pay alot of money to travel together. When they are sitting in the stands together as early as 2nd grade, they start talking. Where is Johnny going to high school. Ok, I will send my kid there too. Not every public school has a baseball program. If you looked at the percentage of kids that played softball and baseball on the elite teams in this state, their parents made the investment in them to take them out of recreational baseball and into elite travel ball years before high school. Barbe and Central are two public 5A schools that are examples of how they have nurtured a baseball mentality in their communities, Kaplan in 3A has done the same. These programs are designed to make better players out of the local products. In Lake Charles, the Barbe High school coach and his wife run Lake Charles Little League. They nurture talent and people move to Lake Charles from as far away as Puerto Rico to go to Barbe High School and play baseball for him. Same thing goes on in Central, where they work hand in hand with USSSA and I think Dixie Youth, to host tournaments and teach the local kids the sport. Kaplan has a major baseball and softball outreach with kids in USSSA travel teams as young as t-ball wearing the yellow and black with K on the hat. They all compete without fail year in and out against the Private schools who do the same thing as them. They nurture the sport early on with involvement. I do agree SPLIT NOW so we can get back to education and building productive members of society without all this public school drama and hysteria.

Weren't 5 of the 7 Softball State Champions non-select schools? Calvary and Catholic PC were only select schools to win. Rest were Public. Where's the dominance there?

Where's the dominance there? looked like COMPETITION to me... Exactly. Was a tough competitive playoff in softball this year. No need for a split. Last year in Basketball, Girls Basketball, Baseball, and Softball (excluding Class B&C) There were 10 Select state champs and 10 NonSelect state champs. Where's the unfair advantage? Sounds like even, fun, competitive playoffs to me!

Break out class 2a and 1a and tell me what it looks like. Again let each class vote as to what they want to do. No issue 5a and 4a should be able to compete, on the fence for 3a, 2a and 1a has issues.

SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT, SPLIT. You and bob are wrong, not to mention self centered, narrow minded and cowards. You can cut the cards, shuffle the deck, slice or dice the LHSAA any way you want and you two will still whine. There are around 400 schools and they all have similarities and differences, but no two are exactly the same. Very few parishes if any adhere to traditional zones. ISD are popping up everywhere, charters and magnates will continue to open. What some schools excell in others fail. A good principal and coach can make a school great the same way bad one can send a school in the crapper. I'm a staunch pro-life advocate but because of you two I get why some believe in planned parenthood. Hopefully you two have been fixed. Put the ball on the tee, start the clock and let the kids play in peace!

I will put it this way I am at most any of Kinder High School events you can show up ask at loud who btown is and find out how much of a coward I am. I have never called you names and do appricate it. I may not value your opinion and that is may right. But I do know what type of people call names.

It's almost laughable that someone from a such successful program would whine. Geez. I hope the student athletes at Kinder don't share in your attitude.

C'mon guys. Btown has at least been willing to listen to reasonable argument from our side most of the time. Right now he's a little salty after the baseball/softball playoffs, but I can see why. I do disagree on his assessment of the reason, but he ain't the 'bad guys'.
If more were like him we might actually have a chance to fix this.

I just can't imagine being from such a successful program like Kinder and not wanting to compete with the best. It's a sad deal that he has chosen himself to represent a top notch program. No school should expect to win every time by my guess is he wants to cull till they can. Sorry, That's just weak.

OK, I agree with your assessment of Kinder and their ability to compete ( in pretty much all sports) with anybody out there. Downright good athletic program there. I'm sad that if we split we would never be able to play them in a playoff environment. I've never been to their place and would love to go there and see how they do it.
I just have found Btown to be a decent 'opponent'. I enjoy dialogue. He at least listens most of the time, as I try to do.

He is a decent apponent as long as he sees it that it benefits or gives Kinder an advantage. Totally self serving. A true debater would concede to ideas that better the situation for all parties involved.

I may be wrong, but I thought the main reason for the split was because of john curtis and evangel being put down in AA back in the day. I don't remember anyone wanting to split over any local private schools. They aren't dominating any sports that I know of.

How many games did you schedule against John Curtis and Evangel in that 10 year time frame when Curtis and Evangel were forced to play down? No one can accuse those 2 schools of dodging anyone. I'd say that 2a did compete against the best for 10 yrs. Were y'all running to their defense then. No! It's called selective enrollment. You got smashed by U-High and Parkview, so u miraculously dropped to 2a? Parkview and U- High aren't on the same level as Curtis and Evangel. You like to say that if you can't beat em vote em out. I'd say to you, if you can't beat em dodge em!

Snoprat, I know nothing about the workings of ND at all, but am a lifetime private school student and parent. Do people really think that private schools sit there and count enrollment and intentionally decrease numbers ( remember these entities are in the tuition business) so as to drop to a lower enrollment where they perceive that competition is lesser? What do they do with the extra students? Just kick them out? Further evidence of the syndrome I posted about in the 'THE answer' thread. Or maybe, just maybe, there was some variance in the class size of the feeder schools and they dropped below the threshold?
