Really surprised at Evangel losing to ED White. I thought they not only would win that one but also had a chance to take down LB Landry.
Also, even though Douglass almost beat this team, I’d still say St Michael has a chance to knock off Vandy Catholic.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t say Northside terrifies me as an LCA alum. In fact I’m pretty sure the Vikings have already knocked off the Knights this season.
Lastly, while I fully expect Shaw to beat SLC, I also am pretty confident SLC will make that contest a battle
Also in D2 NS, the only matchup I’d say might be an upset alert is Jennings @ Brusly. Teams like Jennings with a lot of close losses to good teams are dangerous in the playoffs, and they do have the win over Northside that shows they can finish those kinds of games too

Knights were rolling (13-0 with some nice wins) until Jeremy Bargky got hurt late in the win over Newman in the STM tourney. They haven’t been near the same team since, which makes perfect sense because he was far and away the 2nd best player on the team besides Kam Williams, and a perfect compliment to Kam’s game. From that point on, they went 10-6 with some close wins against teams they probably handle fairly easily with Bargky, and including the home loss to Northside that you mentioned. It’s a shame he went down. I thought they had a shot with him.

And also 6’4 and could defend and rebound. Just an enormous loss.

Tigers season comes to an end but not without a fight.
LHS down 12-7 after the first then 23 for Marksville got hot in the 2nd and couldn't miss anything. We got cold at the same time and went into half down 32-14.
Then our coaches adjusted and we went small. Refs were letting them play and not calling any soft fouls. After 3, LHS was down 46-36. It was very hot in the gym because Marksville apparently turned off the A/C for the game. Court was wet and our players were sliding all over the place. They also apparently only have one towel to wipe the floor.
In the 4th, our rally kept going and it got really interesting. We are down 49-42 with about 4:30 left, get a steal, going down with a 3 on 0 break and a girl runs across the court in front of our players who have to stop. "Security" stands there laughing like it's a joke to them. The teachers and administrators in the gym all do the same thing like it's no big deal. Tec on them but it stops the game, allowing Marksville coaches to get a free timeout to calm down the players and adjust. Magically, while this is going on the A/C gets turned on. At this point, our guys just ran out of gas and 23 got hot again. Final score 65-45.

And I know security wouldn't let someone just run across the court while laughing.

Thanks /Turned in a story this morning. I think it's going to post soon on The Daily Iberian. Capitol was tough. The sophoomore Ramsey Bethel was brilliant. He and the other top scorer for Capitol both fouled out on technicals in crunch time. Catholic's big man and its best senior fouled out, too.

I’m assuming Bethel was #5? He was a heck of a player. Did a great job of shielding himself from our shot blockers in the lane and finished through contact a few times.
