Crowley 21 NV 19
Good game..... Crowley has to work on some things on the defensive side of the ball. Once they get that worked out, they'll be hard to handle. Offense is already clicking and looks to only get better.

North Webster 24 Cedar Creek 6 North Webster running more of a spread offense this year. Lots of skill guys that can play. Starting QB didn’t play for NW I believe he hurt his knee last week, but the kid filling in for him did a good job. They are average up front on both sides of the ball. I wasn’t overly impressed with line play. CC was a scrappy bunch like always. Not much size all around but have a few skill guys that are quick. The middle of their defense struggled tonight. They will struggle against teams with big O-lines and good running games. The NW/Haynesville game will be a very close game next week. I think we are better up front on both sides of the ball, but NW has more team speed and WAY more depth. I think they dressed around 72 players. Knights have 72 for Varsity and around 30 Freshman. The starting qb got injured on the last play of their scrimmage vs Benton last week, not sure of his status. Jaquez Thomas was the back up and he was solid. Haynesville rolled over Lakeside, that's the first time i've ever seen a running clock at a jamboree. they were impressive on just about every play of their scrimmage.

ASH 17 Franklin Parish 7. ASH scored on first 2 drives with big runs from the QB's. FP dominated after that, gaining more yards and running 3 times as many plays QB LT Major had 100 yards passing and 130 yards rushing. The nose tackle for ASH is a beast. Both teams are going to be pretty good this season.

It was good to see former Bastrop coach T Bachman.

Montgomery 24, Pineville JV 16 Montgomery is the likely runner-up in District 3-1A. Logan Groves is a really good Class 1A QB. I like him a lot. Mikel Auge is dangerous in the backfield, and is just a sopre. Secondary is suspect. Pineville's JV QB, who is actually the third-string QB and a sopre, threw for over 150 yards in two 12-minute halves.
Tioga 27, Buckeye 19 Not a lot of defense played in the this one. These two teams meet in Week 10 and could score 100 points between them. Buckeye had three really long drives of 74, 75 and 97 yards. Tioga beat Buckeye deep on a couple of plays and returned a kickoff for a TD. Tioga's strength is its passing game. Buckeye's strength is running the ball up the middle.
Pineville 34, Grant 0 Not a lot to be learned here. Pineville's starters played the first half and led 28-0. JV played the second half. Pineville outgained Grant 147 yards to 2, and Grant didn't get a first down in the game. Pineville senior QB Ben West ran for two TDs and threw for another.

West ouachita 27 winnfield 14 How are you tigers gonna look this year? Better than last year, but not a serious threat in 2a. Hard to tell in the running game because they sat the main 2 backs as a precaution. Had a freshman running a lot last night. He did well but hadn't worked with varsity much. Just don't have an abundance of team speed.

When you give up 27 in a half of football to a West Ouachita, offense isn’t your problem my friend. Is West Ouachita that improved? After last night I don’t think Winnfield will have any trouble with Bunkie but Marksville is waiting for you!

We played 2 12 min halves. WO was up 13-6 @ half and won 27-14. I didn't see WO last year, but they have 1 athlete that did damage and that was the qb. They will probably have a long year also. Winnfield missed multiple tackles. I don't think we will threaten Marksville. Our oline looked much improved from last year.

We do play Covenant Christian who is also from Houma, but this was our first encounter with Houma Chr.
