Ennnnh there are some situations where even Nick Saban couldn’t be successful due to administrative hamstringing. saying you want a successful program and then limiting, or eliminating, things that would help generate success isn’t conducive to building a successful program no matter how hard a coach works.

News out of Northwood. Their principal, the woman had been promoted to the Central Office. The school wanted one of their APs to get the job. The district went with some guy I believe from Bolton. Majority of the teachers and administration there refused to do any work and all walked off or left in some capacity. All are seeking elsewhere employment. So things continue to spiral out of control for Northwood. At least they will be good in basketball.

Alex played baseball at West Ouachita and Louisiana College. He was an assistant baseball coach at Louisiana College and later Pineville before getting into administration. He's been an AP at Bolton for the past three years. When Matt Byrnes left Bolton mid-year, Alex was the guy I was hoping would get the job. It didn't work out for him at Bolton, but I'm happy for him to get a chance at Northwood. He was my evaluator this year, and he's been a good friend. He's walking into a challenging situation, but if the people at Northwood will give him a chance, they're going to find out that they enjoy working for him. He's not a micro-manager. He empowers people to do their jobs. He has a sports background and knows that's an important part of having a successful school and community.

This is a sports board, not the hunting camp. No sense in airing all that here

From the post, seems like Goodling could be good for Northwood. The district seems to be moving on from the last generation of administrators to a new one and that to me is great news. The last generation rather they moved around a lot or stayed in the same place forever were not transformative but just tried to maintain. We have a new principal as well at Peabody and I know it will make a HUGE difference on all fronts, for various reasons.

Many of us at Bolton, naturally, wanted the new principal to come from in house. We had two good candidates, in my opinion. Everything we were told was that Bolton was moving in the right direction under Mr. Byrnes and nothing really needed to change. But for whatever reason, central office decided we needed an experienced principal rather than a first-timer, so Mr. Vines got the call. I've known Mr. Vines for several years and am excited for him to execute his vision for our school moving forward. I'm sad to lose Mr. Goodling, but am excited for him personally to get an opportunity to be a principal. I fully expect Alex to ingrain himself into that community and do a fine job there. It won't be easy, but he's up to the task.

Have heard so many negative comments about the new principal at Peabody, mostly from those who have worked for him or had to associate with him. He can put on a show on Facebook and he checks a lot of boxes for the district.

Everybody would love someone in house, I would have loved to have Mrs. Cooper move up from AP for us, but I know she's finishing up some education requirements. I really hope they don't snatch her from us when she does now that the head spot has been filled. If you say he'll be fine, I'll believe it. I've run across you here and on other forums, I know you know what you're talking about.

He can put on a show on Facebook and he checks a lot of boxes for the district. Dennis Stewart is a show all to himself! I've known him a very long time but he'll do the job really well. Not my first choice as I stated above but if there was a second choice he'd be it. He'll present some change to Peabody that is needed. He is not afraid of change or rubbing people the wrong way if its in the name of success and that success will not be just academically. He wants all the programs to be successful. He was state Middle School Principal of the Year this year and its was because of the aggressive, transformative approach. But at the end of the day, he is one of us, so he knows what we as alumni expect and want and will be willing to listen to get there, which has not happened since Dennis Frazier left in 1999. And even though Henegan was there for almost 30 years, she never got that , she never fit and its why she kept getting passed over until they had no choice but give it to her. She did better than I expected though. He will definitely rustle feathers, that's just who is, but it will work, because that's how we carry ourselves as a community and alumni base surrounding Peabody. We are a boastful bunch!

He spent two years as an assistant principal at Bolton before he became a principal, so he's familiar with our student body and the challenges that we face.
