Seen people talking about it in other threads so decided to go ahead and make a thread about it.
Will OG have another game like before. Or will Hville fire back ready.
From what i seen OG do this past week certainly has my eyes opened on what they can do. 👀 but what are yall thoughts about it. I know them Hville fans are pumped up

Let's get it on!!! We don't have to wait a full 7 days for this one either. For all the marbles, under the lights in the dome, Haynesville vs Oak Grove.
I realized that small school football is at its peak when Oak Grove, Haynesville, Kentwood, L'Sport, etc are all at their best.
We're a much better ball club than that 61-27 throttling y'all gave us earlier this year. I think if we have a couple things go our way, we can get the win. I know OG is a much better team than the one that beat the breaks off of us, but I'm anxious to see us matchup again with everything on the line and everybody watching.

I watched the first meeting and I walked away thinking that game was closer than the score. We missed on a lot of crucial opportunities that were huge. In the end, we gassed and OG’s fresh legs took over. However, we had a lot of success and were able to move the ball well. Our defense is playing its best right now and we’re not too banged up from last night. But, it will still take a Herculean effort from our boys. OG has size, speed, strength and most importantly, quality depth. I think that, along with the experience of playing in the Dome, are the 2 biggest advantages for OG. I’m excited for it. It should be a great matchup between 2 of the best programs in the state.

We were toe to toe with Oak Grove in the first half..then Oak grove made alot big plays to fire back and all the momentum went to Oak grove..Haynesville have what it takes to win! But they go have to dig deep and excute!

Anytime you get a championship matchup and it isn’t the first time the 2 teams have played each other in the dome you know you have a heck of a game coming.

Doesn’t get any better than Haynesville vs Oak Grove for the championship. These 2 teams haven’t met in the Dome since 1989. The first meeting this year was blow for blow, for most of the first half. OG’s depth started wearing us down as the game wore on. OG is just a different animal than anyone else in division IV. They are stacked at every position in all phases, offense, defense, and special teams. They keep the pressure on every single second of the game. If you make one single mistake, they will make you pay. We will need to play a perfect ball game and sustain long time consuming drives and keep OG’s offense off of the field as much as possible, and capitalize on red zone opportunities. We struggled running the ball between the tackles in the first game, but had a lot of success on the edge and through the air. We need to attack the edges and make their corners try and tackle in space. Play keep away, capitalize on red zone opportunities, and cut down on the mistakes, will be the keys to a Haynesville victory. OG is a huge obstacle to get over, but it can be done.

Should be interesting. I’m just wondering if the same thing will happen. Will OG wear the tors down late in the 3rd Q, and slowly pull away?

That 3rd Quarter was really bad play call...refs had some bad calls, we didn't stop the big plays..and OG capitalize on all of it! It's always hard to beat a team twice. The part we messed up about to be cleaned up..another revenge game and another tiger! We definitely got what it takes to win! Go Tors!

With all the tradition going with both schools, Friday night football doesn’t get any better than this. This is the best of Louisiana small school football. I’m going with Oak Grove pulling away in the second half. Oak Grove 42- Haynesville 28.

Yes Sir, This is going to be a good one.I may not agree with your final score for obvious reasons but these are 2 teams I would never bet against. The winner of this game will definitely be the best in 1A. D4

Rich traditions, awsome fans/community support & great athletes. For as long as I can remember, the 1A (and/or 2A) championship has gone through one of these two teams at some point. Hopefully the game lives up to the anticipation. Last year, Haynesville won the regular season matchup, Oak Grove won when it counted. My prediction, the Tornado returns the favor and pulls off the upset! Haynesville 28 Oak Grove 27

I believe Bradley is a 5A caliber talent that will be the difference. Hard to remember a more gifted QB in Non-Select DIV or 1A in recent memory.
Rematches are tough. Just like OG and that QB.

He’s special. La Tech commit I believe. Last one like that at that level is probably 2018 LCA grad Zach Clement. Began his college career at NW State, and now QB1 at Southeastern in Hammond

BUT, OG has a lot more guys that make this team click. #12 Freeman #14 Simmons #33 Layton #10 Stuart. and that offensive line when they are on there is about to be holes open all night long.

Was their first meeting ever close or was it a blow out from the start? It was close. Haynesville struck first and made it 7-0 then OG answered 7-7. Haynesville snapped the ball over the QB’s head and OG recovered it in the end zone to make it 14-7 OG. Haynesville then answered on 2 straight possessions through the air to go up 21-14. OG hit on some big plays and capitalized off of 2 blocked punts that turned into scores to make it 33-21 at half. Haynesville busted a big play right before half, but the drive stalled inside the OG 5 yard line. OG just wore us down in the 2nd half. This time around we need to clean things up. We gifted them a TD on the bad snap and let them block 2 punts, which gave them a short field. We also forced a 3 & out to start the 2nd half, but a running into the kicker gave them the ball back. Can’t do things like that against a good team like OG. We also need to prevent giving up the big play. We gave up a couple of big plays in the first half. The talent gap was pretty even in my opinion. OG had no answer for #4 Alonzo Jackson. Unfortunately we had no answer for #7 Jackson Bradley….Last game all 4 of our TD’s came off of big plays of over 50 yards each time. This game we will need to get our running game going and try to keep the OG offense off of the field as much as possible.

Most of the Tornado on the field don't get a break. O.G has been putting in time as well. I hope it's a good one no matter what.

This will most definitely be one for the books. Both teams are extremely motivated and determined. Oak Grove does everything so well, it's hard to find a weakness. But I think we have the ultimate weapon in Alonzo Jackson. I have yet to see a game where he wasn't the best player on the field. Against OG the first time, I think he had a kick return for a TD, a receiving TD, a rushing TD, along with about 14 tackles on defense. He can dominate a game in so many ways, and I think Haynesville fully unleashes him, considering this will be his last high school football game. I'm hoping for a great football game where all the stars play their absolute best and may the best team win.

Ok here the thing you can thank Mangham but OG was coasting until that game. That game woke OG up. I have not seen OG play with that type of energy last week all season. But we going to see Freeman #12 is just getting better and better as times goes as well as the rest really. But you will see in due time

OG came out refocused and put Kentwood away on the road. I expect we will get OG’s very best effort on Thursday. With that said, I know our boys won’t flinch and have no intentions of merely participating. We’re definitely out manned and it will take a massive effort from Haynesville to pull off the upset. But, I’ve got faith our guys can get it done.

LETS GO TORS! Happy as can be for the people of Haynesville. Players, coaches, community, former players.I hope you guys are celebrating when the dust settles. We spend the holidays up in Shongaloo and Haynesville and my wife and I adopted the Tors as our second team many years ago. Safe travels to all making the trip south (from each school).

They were physical and dialed in like I have not seen all year. IF OG comes out like they did against Kentwood I just don't see them losing. I could be wrong, but they played at another level. Fast Physical and dialed in. Besides the 3 fumbles but that mainly due to wet ball and Kentwood getting a helmet on the ball. Perfect tackle

I forgot to ask this last season, but now I remember on,…I’ve never been to Haynesville, but talking with a few people at the dome red Franklin memorial stadium is not located at the school? I just figured with all that tradition, the stadium would be at the school my bad lol how does that work with kids getting to and from practice or is there a practice field at the school and weight room? Just curious!

Just curious! The stadium and practice field are located in the park about a quarter of a mile behind the high school. It’s really not that far. We always drove down there or loaded up with somebody with a vehicle and rode down there. If you were unlucky, like I was a few times my freshman year, you would have to walk down. It wasn’t too bad. About a 6-7 minute walk.

If you were really unlucky (or a smart***) and you critiqued Coach Reeder’s driving, he’d put you off of the bus and make you walk… for the rest of the week 😆
