OK, I will bite as well. PROFESSIONAL GUIDE TO BEING A WM FAN Step 1: Things are different THIS year Step 2: See, we annihilated a clearly inferior team Step 3: Rebels lose a game Step 4: Everybody over reacts, either about coaching, talent, scheme, or expectations Step 5: Rebs get a win Step 6: "Next year is the year" Step 7: Rebs finish above .500 and get a playoff win Step 8: We might have a chance this year Step 9: The officials cheated us Step 10: Rinse and repeat Here's the problem that nobody will acknowledge, many kids these days expect winning to be easy because that's how they were raised, their parents have arranged the pieces all through their nurturing... when they get in trouble or play the wrong position or get chewed out by a coach, or make a bad grade on their test, or got their feelings hurt by a friend... on and on it goes. The way things went down last year with Garvin will have an indefinite impact on the success of this program. The coaching staff has their hands tied because they were in on the Garvin coup d'etat, and now everyone (especially the players) know that the coaching authority is compromised. It's a bad place to be as a program. For the last 2 decades WM has been living with the ghosts of seasons past haunting the program, and until there is a real exorcism of those ghosts (which may not happen in my lifetime) why would anyone rationally expect anything different. Stop at Step 6 and you got the blueprint for Cowboys fans too

I haven't seen any Rebel fans on here overreacting. I think we are now realistic about the expectations and what it will take to try and bring the program back to competing for state titles. Most of us have predicted a 6-4 regular season ceiling and understand it takes playing this kind of schedule to have any hope come playoff time. The Rebs are right where I thought we would be at this point in the season, I am still a fan and still behind the coaching staff

HMMM???
logictrumpsemotion03:
"I envision WM becoming an offensive machine the next few years, especially with King at QB and some of those young receivers he has. Hard to imagine them going from a defensive juggernaut to offensive though, but I believe it is going to happen. Next season offensively they will be lights out and one of the best in the state"
VS
tigerfan7997 :
"LMAO-Uhm NO... WM's days of Domination are over; they are a good 5a team that will have trouble with ANY GOOD team in ANY classification. The days of just lining up and running people over are gone... Teams that have success with power football have GAME BREAKING athletes. WM will be a good team for YEARS to come; however with that student make-up They are just Southside "North LA" They will win games, but flame out in the playoffs when playing elite 5a teams. Coaching is to good these days to win with Limited athletic talent. "
We will see how things go !!!.... MoreLHSAAMemes your turn ... Not trying to stir the pot !! just sharing conflicting views.
I like that..."you got chocolate in my peanut butter", "Well you got peanut butter in my chocolate" good meme. Lets see how bad these WM coaches are . Especially to night with Catholic.

However, and I mean no offense, but this response is reminiscent of the current WM culture. It's like trying to drive by only looking in the rearview mirror. Instead of bringing the program "back", what if we just let the past be the past, and try to move this program FORWARD to competing for state titles. Do something different. How many attempts of trying to replicate what worked in a completely different era until we realize the present is what matters. Who cares how dominant you were 20 years ago. It's worth respecting, but absurd to idolize. The landscape of LHSAA football has changed, even the game itself has changed. Onward we go.

Could not agree more, very well said and my sentiments exactly Even though it may not be worth two cents, I'm gonna add my two cents. What worked for WM and all the other great teams of the past, it worked against teams from a different era. A lot of it wouldn't have worked against a lot of teams from today. Some of those WM teams that won state back then might not have won state against some of the teams from today. And that goes for all of the past great teams. So I agree, don't try and "get back to the past" because you might still not be a champion. This all coming from an old man that constantly lives in the past, lol.

Don Shows. My bad I thought you were talking about offensive coordinators. I couldn't think of one with the DS.

I don't think so. Last i heard Kyle Hill the basketball coach was acting as AD but he's moved into administration. So I'm not sure who it is now.

On another note..Kevin Davis has to answer to nobody regarding WM, he is completely in charge now , is that correct?

No chains they were not undefeated. They lost the first two games to Curtis and Karr. Ran the table the rest of the way.
