But to question their toughness is insane to me. Someone stated what would these coaches and players do if it was predicted to be freezing rain from Thursday-Saturday. I'm willing to bet they would still play. But that's not the situation here. The situation is to play in moderately cool weather and 0% chance of rain on Thursday or close to freezing temperatures and 70% chance of rain on Friday. Everyone is entitled to their own choices and opinions but to choose the better weather is not weak. If they cancelled the games completely then I'd agree that's being weak but nobody has cancelled yet (to my knowledge) because of the weather that's coming in. Freezing temperatures? Its supposed to be in the 60s or upper 50s during game time. The cold isn't pushing in until midnight

I know I went to public school but I didn't realize that the low 40's are now freezing temps, did I miss some new scientific research?

I will bet anyone on here, if it was to "snow" and the schools close for "snow day" that every kid will be out playing in it. What's the difference between playing on your own and playing a game?
Buckle up buttercup, it's game on.

Maybe your public school education caused you not to read close enough. I said "close to freezing temperatures". From what I learned 32 degrees is when water freezes. Pretty sure low 40s are pretty close to freezing. Nice try though.

So 40 in Oberlin could be 35 in oakdale.lol

The pios obviously aren't afraid of cold fronts. I don't know who #42 is for the opposing team, but that's probably the worst stance I've ever seen for a defensive end.

That's called a Scared sh!!tless freezing cold stance. Looking across and seeing farm boys with no sleeves will do that to you. ND won 43-0

Welcome to pansy America, where everyone is offended and everyone wins. We cancel school because its too cold and cancel practice because it too hot. We play violent sports but cry bc it's too violent. Unbelievable isn’t it?

Maybe it's fear of lightening. In our world now people sue for being harmed in a public forum. Maybe the school is attempting to protect the school board's assessets and protect students from a weather related accident.

1. Player safety 2. Travel safety 3. Gate/concession money 4. Lightning delays
It's a pretty simple case of good judgement. Hopefully no one is injured in a weather related way because his fans wanted him to be tough. I've seen a tough man struck by lightning, it wasn't pretty.
Coaches driving buses in the pourIng rain.
Most programs can't lose and entire home game worth of money or depend on the "real" football fans to come.
I've played in a game that was delayed multiple times and finished around 12 am in front of only parents because even the cheerleaders were smart enough to go home. The only reason we won was because we were able to stay more focused through the delays than our opponents were.
