Gotta remember SJH ran the Wing-T under Rick Gaille for years so they are familiar with it... also played 2 other teams this year that ran it (EDW & Marksville)

Gotta remember SJH ran the Wing-T under Rick Gaille for years so they are familiar with it Most of these players were young kids and some babies in those Gaille wing-t days. However, the front 4 for SJH along with Preston, Brown and that secondary are so good. Marksville had over 300 yards rushing on Caldwell week 10 and only had 97 total yards vs SJH in round 1 . Madison Prep had over 400 yards in round 1 vs Caldwell and 256 yards rushing by rb Tyrese Walker and they only had 80 total yards in round 2 vs SJH. Thibeau for Kaplan had over 250 yards I round 2 vs Iota. I think SJH follows the pattern minimizing Kaplans offense.

SJH DEFENSE, ESSPECIALLY THEIR FRONT 4, IS TOP KNOTCH. THEY MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO RUN. THEY ALSO HAVE A SECONDARY THAT WILL GIVE YOU FITS. THEIR OFFENSE HAS BEEN QUESTIONABLE THIS YEAR BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE BECOMING MUCH MORE SOUND. NOT MENTION THEY HAVE GREAT COACHING AND PLAYED A VERY HARD SCHEDULE. WHERE THEY HAD TO FIGHT. ITS HARD TO PICK AGAINST ST JAMES. KAPLAN IS A GOOD TEAM, VERY WELL COACHED, AND FIGHT HARD BUT I DONT SEE THEM MATCHING UP AGAINST THE ALTHLETES THAT ST JAMES HAS AND RUNNING ALL OVER THEIR DEFENSE. KAPLAN IS GOOD ENOUGH TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EVERY MISTAKE YOU MAKE, SO AS LONG AS SJH AVOIDS THOSE MISTAKES, I PICK THE WILDCATS TO WIN. GOODLUCK TO BOTH TEAMS.

Actually #13 Glen Brown is the shutdown cb. He's uncommitted. Shawn Preston, the miss st. committ plays outside lb but is being recruited as a safety. The secondary is athletic and fast. Believe they’ll have to wear all their pads this week. Gonna be real physical If you don't wear all your pads and strap'em up tight against Kaplan you're gonna wish you had come Saturday morning. They won't knock decals off they helmets but Kaplan does bring it!

This game should be a close one but I don't buy the David and Goliath act. Reading a lot of these post makes it sound like one team is just real talented and the other is well coached so they have a fighting chance. Both teams are talented and well coached. Don't confuse different scheme philosophies with one team being overwhelmingly more talented than the other. I will take St James in a relatively low scoring game... 20- 14

It doesn’t matter. The winner will lose in Sterlington the following week.

No matter who wins this game y'all gonna have y'all hands full. Both Kaplan and St James are real good and both played a much harder schedule than y'all. I promise both of them would be undefeated with y'all schedule. Y'all good but also untested.

St. James vs Kaplan winner vs Sterlington should be a great one next week. I think both teams are capable of beating sterlington. St. James upset Sterlington in the 2A playoffs about 4 years ago. I think If St. James win this week they beat Sterlington and face West Feliciana in the dome.

I heard that the refs cheated them in That 42-6 beatdown from Ouachita. I heard Richwood fans say that the score isn't a good Indication of how close the game really was. The richwood fans said that the score was actually tied at 0-0 at some point in the game.

I also believe that St James is the only team that could upset West Feliciana in 3A I think so too, St James has a really good defense. In my opinion their defense can contain anybody left in 3A. It's their offense that's been in question this year. Havin said that, to me it looks like they have gotten much better. Not to say they will, but If their offense keeps coming together which it seems like it is, they could win out and beat west felciana in the dome.

St. James offense has been playing better and better as #5 Demarcus Williams health improves. He came back in week 10 vs. St. Charles but he wasn't a factor at WR as he was obviously still hobbled with a heavily taped knee. In round 1 he started @ QB for the 1st time since he was injured in week 4 vs Wossman and showed no ill effects from his injuries and threw 2 TDs and played WR also. He is clearly the leader of this team in his 3rd season as the starting QB. He unexpectedly started @ QB the last 2 seasons when Lowell Narcisse went down tearing both ACLs and he did a good job overall. The wildcats offense is a big play waiting to happen with Demarcus @ QB and #3 Shamar Smith @ WR. He and Smith rotate from QB to WR and this formula has bought positive results for the offense the last 2 weeks.

There is a lot of football to be played before St James can start talking about crowning themselves in the Dome against West Feliciana, like playing Kaplan.
And before some says something about a team being "sorry", everybody has a shot for the Dome! All teams that make it to the Quarterfinals are good.
Let's not forget that Northwest is in the quarters for the second year in a row, Crowley just upset Iowa who a lot of people were picking to go to the Dome, and Jennings is starting to catch a groove at the right time.
Point being, the cliche holds. Take every game very seriously from this point out as no one is an easy win.

I agree. I am very concerned about Kaplan, because they control the clock and keep teams off the field. I am not expecting any easy wins from here on out.

Yea I mean I wasn't saying it was a sure thing, I'm just saying St James is good enough to do so and has a good shot. But I honest just don't believe anybody in the other side the bracket can beat West feliciana unless they just choke like they did the last two years. I could be wrong but I just don't think anyone on that side will stop them

I agree - barring a major upset, W. Feliciana will be in the Dome. I picked them as soon as the brackets were released.

I sure hope that happens, but i agree lawarrior in that any team in the quarters can make their way to the dome. If we play sloppy like we did against Lutcher last year then we will be watching from the stands. West Fel has the talent, hope they can execute to the end. Good luck to all in the quarters!

A VERY EXPERIENCED AND RELIABLE SOURCE OF MINE WENT SCOUT KAPLAN LAST WEEK AND HE SAYS SJH IS BIGGER, BETTER, AND FASTER. HE ALSO SAID THAT KAPLAN PLAYS HALF A DOZEN KIDS BOTH WAYS WHICH MEANS THEY WILL GET TIRED. HE GIVES KAPLAN CREDIT BECAUSE THEY DO PLAY HARD BUT HE DOESNT BELIEVE THEY WILL MATCH THE WILDCATS.
