I was there and saw for myself what happened. I was really looking for opinions from others who may have been there and saw it too.

I was there. Kaplan was a well coached team. That misdirection of the wing t created problems. It felt weird being on the opposite side of it. It used to be St. James giving teams fits with it. I think they did do a good job getting Kaplan off the field and not giving up long drives. The biggest thing was the 10th grade qb for SJH looked like a 10th grader vs the zone defense Kaplan played most of the night. Even when the wr got behind the zone he couldn't hit his targets. I think the ineffectiveness at the qb spot for the wildcats really hurt them, but Kaplan impressed me overall. Oh and that Tight end is huge, but he seems to be much better on defense. Thibeau too..I think he's the best back SJH played this year by far.

Kaplan is a good football team, and yes I agree, #1, Cobb, TE/DE is a Man. When he wants to play, he is hard to stop. Really good game by St James, and I would like to add how pleasant of a game day experience we had in Vacherie. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, and I was really impressed how you guys fed our players after the game, that was very nice to see. Very much respect to St James, those boys came to play and that D line was legit. #68 is not huge, but he is a Man. Yeah it's all fun and games. All about the kids and enjoying the playoff atmosphere. Kaplan was a great team and classy opponent with some classy fans.

I wasn't able to make the game as I was out of town on business, but I was told it was a great game. I want to get your opinions on the officials though, I was told there were something that happened on a fumble as well as some close plays. However, my cousin that told me all this is the type to blame the officials for everything. For those in attendance, what did yall think?

In all fairness, nothing stuck out to me in terms of the officials and any really bad calls. Not saying that there were none, but nothing blatant that I noticed and definitely none that swayed the outcome of the game one way or the other.

Like I said, my cousin likes to complain about officials all the time so I take his word with a grain of salt. Thanks for the clarification, although you WERE on the winning side so maybe I'll have to think it was somewhere in-between.

Maybe that interception is what he was talking about and not a fumble... what was the story there?

Maybe that interception is what he was talking about and not a fumble... what was the story there? There was a fumble that was indicated to St.James. Then changed when one Kaplan player got up from on top another Kaplan player and the kid on the bottom of the pile had the ball with no St.James players around. They then correctly changed the call. The only other call besides the interception Easytiger mentioned, was a kick catch interference by Kaplan was waived off due to player being blocked into the punt returner, which I thought that penalty should have stood.
