Todd Garvin. Well respected among his peers big time. Considered ampng WM's brightest yoing coaches with a great career ahead of him. Was instrumental in helping learn the Auburn offense they have ran aince Belton was there. All jokes aside, this comes as a shocker to most here BIG TIME. Something doesnt add up here. I will find out probably by next week as practice gets ready to begin.

Also, has worked hand and hand with Sander's for years. Has learned a lot. That's probably the biggest benefit to Ruston.

WM, what is the story behind getting rid of a promising young coach? Everyone thought he had a shot at the OPHS job a couple years ago. Would have thought he might be in line for the Rebel job when Arledge goes?

Buddy up there just told me he heard he was being moved to the freshman team so he decided to leave. Maybe someone can verify that but doesn’t sound like something they would have done with their ‘best and brightest’.
I’ve said numerous times on here WM needs someone that can develop a QB. Maybe they finally figured that out. He has had some really good QB prospects come through there and left them standing on the sidelines.. How many did he send on to college?

Well I don't think it was as much as developing QBs...as much as it was politics....of getting the HC to put the best QB in the offence......

Belton was probably the only one with enough talent to play QB at the next level and he never played because of injuries. The rest were good athletes some exceptional athletes that could run and maybe throw a little. Ensminger played a little QB in college I think. Several played college ball at other positions.

Do not agree that Belton had the best shot playing qb at the next level. He was athletic and played 3 seasons for several games before the injuries. IF he had the potential at the college level someone would have given him a chance. He is like most of the other qb's at WM, good athletic skills but not necessarily qb material , therefore Tech has him running as a receiver. Had Faust been given the playing time he probably would have played, as he was recruited as a qb, but likely was not developed to the level the colleges need. They did not have success developing qb's that could go to the next level, but the call on who played was likely not up to the QB coach as much as the HC and the powers that be.

All. of the above. None, adding to my point. So who’s fault was it, that wm didn’t send qb’s to college the 20 years prior to him being there? West Monroe has just transitioned to this new style offense a few years back. Before that it was nothing but the triple option. I saw about three quarterbacks over that time span that could play college ball--1998 Max Causey (La Tech), 2000 Mitch Tucker (not sure if he played in college), and 2005 Ensmingers son. Paul Turner was just an athlete ans better than Bolden was last year. Very good athletes but not pure QB or even a college rated QB. Belton did have the talent regardless of what rhe other poster insinuated. He was not given the shot because he had 3 acl teara in 3 years. That is ridiculous. He was made of paper. I know his parents and it is a crying shame he did not stay healthy. Great family and very very outgoing people who did all for their son. This kid Kahmann is legit. They know he is legit; he knows he is legit. Will he be able to develop? That is their main goal moving forward without question. He is the best pure QB they have had in my opinion since they became a power in 1993. So what happened with Garvin, IMO, LIKELY resolves arouns that key point. Was Kahmann developing as the staff desired? Was he regressing? But there was an issue without question. I wont be surprised if WM struggles mightily against John Ehret and Tool those first two games if their QB isnt prepared. He isnt Bolden running the ball and cant take the licks Bolden took last year. Some games Bolden was so worn out he needed a breather and almost demanded one he would be so upset. They cant run Kahmann like that. They must be successful through the air this season to have a chance for a title. End of story. That is what this is about. Period.

West Monroe has all this drama trying to figure out what to do on offense, can't seem to recall what they did to be so good for so long... Meanwhile, JT Curtis just sticks with the ole split back veer and keeps plugging along.
It still works fellas. Never stopped.

Players want to play in the spread and no huddle. Thats what all high school, college, hell even pro teams are doing. Change it up or get left with the times. You might win a state title but develope a WR or QB i doubt it. This is why Texas,Florida, and Georiga produce well. They've change with the football world. Kids need to be college ready.

Boot you catch a lot of hell on here, but you are knowledgable, that cant be argued. Louisiana is starting to catch up in spots. I think what Zachary is doing is great. Brown will be a top flight QB and Zachary isnt losing the next couple years come playoff time. They are the new state power. I thought Neville and McCarty would be better but he is overrated as a QB coach. Expected more.

Decision was made because players were underclassmen not to play them WM standards. 1st JV team in forever to not lose a game I mean those kids could flat out ball. The best kids didn't get to play in the position's they're great at instead in the spot where a defensive minded coach suggested.Slade was good but shouldve played WR didnt get to show that skill set off at all. Which I think screwed his chances of being recruited as a Wideout,of course he is playing safety now. I see him as a LB. I dont really know much about Neville, but they have recently won state titles. WM on the other hand is fading might be another 15 years before they get back. Especially since kids arent into football as much as they use to be. You got to take advantage of the times you have and WM is letting it pass them by. Especially if G sits his most important year substituting in and out. Only thing left to stand on will be the stadium and boy is it nice. I'm about to start making a list of talent to leave starting with the sports announcer of 30 years.

He’s not at safety. Played safety in spring because they only had a few safety’s in camp. Now the new safety recruits are on campus. He moved back to WR months ago.

There are many West Monroe fans that feel the same way. I know many who echo the sentiment. Their defensive line should carry them far though this year though. Shouls not be many in the state better.
