There's a lot of opposite stories for different teams this year. West Monroe will win it all, then WM doesn't have the players as good as they used to. Zachary is unreal this year. Then they lost a lot of good players. Destrahan is loaded, then they can't play defense. Evangel got away from Curtis, but will now be with STM. Lots of different opinions. One thing is certain....18 teams are going to the state championship and half of them are gonna lose. lol

Also how out of shape they were up front on defense. The lack of tackling was unusual. But, they lost one DB for the year, and the other two are injured. West Monroe defensive backs have never been called upon to make a lot of tackles in the run game as they put so much emphasis on stopping the run at the first level. With Moore out for possibly the season that leaves a big hole at end. He was a 2 and a half year starter since his freshman year. Zachary, for some odd reason lost prior year starters that haven't been addressed by the media or staff as of yet. May not have to be, but it is odd without question. I see EA lost their massive offensive lineman also,Falepule Alo,back to Utah. Zachary was the definite favorite before the exodus. Acadiana is still the favorite since the exodus. Destrehan played without some defensive studs in their jamboree like WM but their offense is electric as anyone's. It is Acadianas to lose.

Good, sensible post Logic....I agree, I think it'll be Acadiana. Lafayette might have three state champs this year....LCA, STM, and, I know, technically they're in Scott, but Acadiana. Then about fifteen miles away you have St. Martinville. Of course, ND will have something to say about LCA, lol. But they're all in the same area which I think is pretty impressive.

The current crop of talent in the Lafayette (Acadiana) area, grades 8 through 12, is as good as its been in a long time. Maybe ever. All of the teams you mentioned will be strong for the foreseeable future. And even on some of the non-contender teams, there are players everywhere in the area. The kids at Westgate, the kids at Comeaux, Carencro has players, Catholic-New Iberia has players. And more sprinkled around as well. And that’s all within just about a 30 mile radius. And there are a TON of younger kids that will make names for themselves over the next 2-4 years. Fun time to be a high school football fan around here right now.
