New Enrollment numbers for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 School years. I have 295 teams listed, so i think i left someone off. Find it and i'll update. Now obviously it's not perfect but it's something to look at until they update. And in reality this will be very close! only teams around the classification splits will change and a team that updates their number and moves in classification.
I have heard of as many as 4 new schools entering the LHSAA so that would bump some schools up, but I think and I think that some are already listed.8.7.4 Schools Competing in Football: 1. Football schools shall be divided into five equal or nearly equal classes. 2. Counting to achieve equal fifths shall begin with the lowest and end with the highest football school enrollment. 3. Schools with equal enrollment that form the dividing line in a classification shall play in the lower classification.www.14-0productions.com for the History of Louisiana High School Sports... 5A (58 Schools)2383 Jesuit 2357 Lafayette 2298 Dutchtown 2268 Catholic - Looks like 2-4A will remain the same. Except the possible addition of Buckeye. If Peabody moves back up to 4A then they will recreate that Alexandria district with Peabody, Buckeye, Tioga, Leesville, DeRidder, and Grant

Does it bother anyone else that there is a large gap between the top of the 5A and the bottom of 5A. At the top, Lafayette has 2455 and on the bottom Woodlawn BR has 1157. That is a difference of 1298. That is the size of a 5A school difference. Don't get me wrong, any team can win on any given day; but this is a obvious advantage for the schools at the top of the classification.

That is a Huge number..., and it's about the same in 4a... about Double enrollment from 1153 to 667. The rest are atleast kinda close... Crazy numbers for some of the larger schools in those classifications...

I don't think Calvary's #s are correct. At 293 that means they average 73 kids/grade in high school. I dont think they even have 1 grade with 73 much less an average for all 4. I'd heard they turned in 227.

Why do you foresee the 1a top number going up to 258? That's much higher than it's ever been. Why is that happening?

Why do you foresee the 1a top number going up to 258? That's much higher than it's ever been. Why is that happening? All this 7th and 8th grade stuff has it all out of whack. It's making (some)schools much larger. Without it the numbers would be much lower. I hear there will be new small schools added which will bump the cutoffs up some.

I sure hope so that's a extremely high number for 1a That really hurts typical 1a enrollment schools

If the LHSAA does what they should using those numbers, Notre Dame will be in the western district with Kinder & Welsh. Add Ascension Episcopal & Franklin to our district to replace them and Sacred Heart.

District's will be based on logistics not strength of teams. Welsh to Franklin , loreauville makes no sense. I don't see districts changing much. Mamou goes to 3a and either Ville Platte or east beau comes in

Or do you add Vinton and DQ,as well and send East Beau With Many Oakdale Bunkie Rosepine Menard and probably add in Ville Platte that would split the district 6 and 7

Vinton almost has to stay in our district because they are so far away from all other districts. I think mamou goes and east Beauregard enters. Lccp enters too if they still 2a.

I guess I had just assumed they were an all boys school. You're a fairly well informed person. You honestly didn't know that ND was coed? I wouldn't have asked if I already knew. Was Notre Dame ever all boys? I remember when Loyola (boys) and St. Vincents (girls) merged here in Shreveport back in the early '80s (?). I guess I assumed that was because Northwest Louisiana is predominately Protestant and we do not have near as many Catholics. In fact I thought Loyola changed from Jesuit for the same reason. So are there any Catholic schools that are still all boys?
