You're a fairly well informed person. You honestly didn't know that ND was coed? I wouldn't have asked if I already knew. Was Notre Dame ever all boys? I remember when Loyola (boys) and St. Vincents (girls) merged here in Shreveport back in the early '80s (?). I guess I assumed that was because Northwest Louisiana is predominately Protestant and we do not have near as many Catholics. In fact I thought Loyola changed from Jesuit for the same reason. So are there any Catholic schools that are still all boys? Jesuit, st Aug, Catholic BR, maybe others

Looks to me like you have Country Day at 236, AND MP Country Day at 263. Need to remove the one at 263 I think.

Lake Charles prep should be around 403-410 You have to multiple that number by 1.4 since they don't have a senior class. For reclass purposes they are at 559.

If the LHSAA does what they should using those numbers, Notre Dame will be in the western district with Kinder & Welsh. Add Ascension Episcopal & Franklin to our district to replace them and Sacred Heart. Kinder Welsh lake,Arthur and Notre Dame but u need a 5th team who else gets in?. Or do you add Vinton and DQ,as well and send East Beau With Many Oakdale Bunkie Rosepine Menard and probably add in Ville Platte that would split the district 6 and 7 Winnfield will be 2A again.

Vinton almost has to stay in our district because they are so far away from all other districts. I think mamou goes and east Beauregard enters. Lccp enters too if they still 2a. District 1 Vinton, Dequincy, East Beau, Rosepine, Pickering
District 2- Welsh, Kinder, LA, ND, Oakdale

Washington-Marion Westlake LCCP Iowa St. Louis. Jennings and Iota might actually have to move out that district I can see a district that includes Jennings, Iota, Crowley, and Church Point, but I'm not certain who else would be included.

I left out Eunice. The Lake Charles district could be St. Louis, Iowa, Westlake, Washington-Marion, LCCP, and S. Beau. What do you think.

Switch Vinton and Oakdale. Travel would be easier for Vinton

Iota, Pine Prairie, Church Point, Port Barre, Mamou, Eunice, Kaplan, Crowley (If Crowley drops)
Jennings, St. Louis, Iowa, Westlake, Washington-Marion, Lake Charles Prep, South Beau
Also Jennings could be in either of those districts and Mamou could be in an Alexandria district

Buckeye is going up and Vidalia and Winnfield are going down. Lets say Peabody does go up and Crowley does go down, here's what I'm thinking
Jena, Marksville, Bolton, Avoyelles, Mamou, Pine Prairie
Iota, Church Point, Port Barre, Eunice, Crowley, Kaplan, Jennings
St. Louis, Iowa, Westlake, Lake Charles Prep, Washington-Marion, South Beau

I prefer 6 teams. Jennings and Crowley are rivals from years back, and Jennings and Eunice are still big rivals. Iota is only about 15 miles from Jennings and about the same distance from Eunice. Church Point is also about 35 miles from Jennings. This seems to be a logical grouping.

Does it bother anyone else that there is a large gap between the top of the 5A and the bottom of 5A. At the top, Lafayette has 2455 and on the bottom Woodlawn BR has 1157. That is a difference of 1298. That is the size of a 5A school difference. Don't get me wrong, any team can win on any given day; but this is a obvious advantage for the schools at the top of the classification. That is a Huge number..., and it's about the same in 4a... about Double enrollment from 1153 to 667. The rest are atleast kinda close... Crazy numbers for some of the larger schools in those classifications... Lafayette Parish has a new High School coming on line next year, Southside High school. It will take about 1500 students from Comeaux. Comeaux will take about 800-1000 from Lafayette High. All should be around the 1600 count. The question is how will this affect Carencro, who has also been rezoned to receive more students from Both Acadiana and Lafayette High. They could be over 1200 when school starts next year if not more, but still be playing in 4A.

They had been classified as a 4A school, but their actual enrollment after the break would have put them in 3A. They had to play a 4A schedule for 2 years before another reclass brought them back down.
