Again asking does anyone have the new enrollment numbers not released yet. Today at 4:00 is the "late" deadline. If numbers aren't in today you get left out.

They just plug them in after the counts are made if the numbers are turned in late. Wish they had some kind of punishment like a fine. Something...

Does anyone have all of the numbers? For real I been waiting to see I always thought they should use numbers from the Department of Education rather than from the schools themselves. You see, there are some ghosteses wandering the hall of many public schools that gets paid for by DOE. Since you gets paid by DOE for your Ghosteses, then you should count them for fooseball too. Long time disparity in number reported for class vs numbers counted for cash. Of course there is nothing to see they are ghosteses….

Just read an article in the Times stating that Evangel will be moving to district 1 4A next year Gotta LINK? Love to read that article!
Here are the first two paragraphs.
Evangel Christian Academy will make the move from LHSAA Class 5A to LHSAA Class 4A for during the upcoming reclassification of schools and will compete in District 1-4A, according to ECA chancellor Denny Duron.
The decision was made after considering the possible realignment of the northwest Louisiana 5A districts, which could send the Shreveport-based 5A schools into a district with Alexandria, Pineville and Natchitoches Central.
The article goes on to say:
2019 District 1-4A Here is what the 2019 district should look like, although Minden could be moved into a district with the Monroe 4As. BTW Evangel Huntington Minden North DeSoto Northwood Woodlawn

I'm confused. ECA can travel to St. Louis, MO and Allen, TX for non-district games, but they don't want to drive to Pineville?

I'm confused. ECA can travel to St. Louis, MO and Allen, TX for non-district games, but they don't want to drive to Pineville? Sometimes it's not just about football. I imagine with money an issue at ECA these days, all that travel for basketball and baseball can get costly. Besides, when ECA travels to St.Louis and Allen, they get paid to do it. The real interesting thing will be to see if Northwood moves up to 5A to avoid having to play Evangel. Honestly, I'll be a little surprised if Northwood and North DeSoto both don't move up to 5A (playing up). But I don't think either want to have to deal with Byrd, Shreve, and Haughton on a regular basis either. And there may be not wanting to be in a district with former coaches to go against. I doubt it's that, but certainly something to think about.

We all know Evangel is not afraid to travel. Maybe there is something else to consider.
There are currently 7 teams in 1-5A. That means Evangel has to come up with four non-district games each year. That is easy for public schools to do, but not so easy for Evangel.
I think Benton may be moving up to 5A, which would give them 8 teams. That is something I think Evangel would like. But if they are talking about adding Natchitoches, Alexandria, and Pinevile, they must be talking about splitting into two districts of 5 and 6 teams. That means those teams have to come up with either 5 or 6 non-district games each year.

Belaire lost over 300 students, some were going there. I would say a mix of the three schools you mentioned. Maybe Scotlandville and Madison Prep.
I have not see Scotlandville this year, but they seem to be down.

This year is the peak of a special 4 years. Similar to the brossette/brumfield run. May not win next year but will be right back. This is simply a special class

Hey BGH, No I didn't mean to imply that ECA was afraid to travel. Quite the opposite. I was puzzled more by the tone of article, I guess. To my eyes it made it look like ECA was trying to get out of playing the Alexandria area teams, which didn't really make sense to me. Your reasoning makes sense from a scheduling perspective. I often forget that there are many schools who simply don't want to play the Eagles.

Could Ouachita drop down to 4A moving West Monroe and Ruston to a 2-5A district with Benton, Airline, Haughton, Parkway, Ruston, and West Monroe? Possibly add Ouachita if they stay 5A. That would be a nice little district. Be pretty competitive.

Having to come up with additional non-district games wasnt even something I thought about. That really does make sense, in regards to football. It's bad enough that probably half of 1-5A would rather not play Evangel, then add another team or 2 to the district that doesn't want to play them... They'll try to split the district just to spite them.
